| The story of King Asa is one of my favorites in the Word of God. His story starts with "And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of The Lord His God:" 2 Chronicles 14:2 I love the way the Word emphasizes THE LORD HIS GOD. Is God just God or is He your God? It makes all the difference when your relationship with God is personal, which can only be established through Jesus Christ God's Son, in Whom God has reconciled us to Himself. (2nd Corinthians 5:18-21). Asa had this relationship through birth, but we have this relationship by faith and by adoption. Galatians 4:4-7. | ||||||||||
| The Enemy Came Against Asa | ||||||||||
| 2 Chronicles 14:9 "And there came out against them Ze'rah the Ethiopian with a host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots: and came unto Mareshah" | ||||||||||
| Asa Went Against The Enemy | ||||||||||
| Asa's response to the enemy coming against them was to rise up and go against the enemy. He showed no fear but rather faith in God. | ||||||||||
| The Prayer Of Asa | ||||||||||
| 2 Chronicles 14:11 "And Asa cried unto THE LORD HIS GOD, and said Lord IT IS NOTHING with Thee to help, whether with many or with them that have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go against this multitude, O Lord You are our God, LET NOT MAN PREVAIL AGAINST YOU" DID YOU CATCH THAT? Asa said "We rest on You" In Your Name we go against this enemy, let not this enemy prevail against YOU. You see when you are a child of God and something comes against you, and you respond in faith by going against it in the Name of The Lord your God, then for it to prevail against you, would mean it prevailed against God. Praise God! This is what it means to pray in the Name of Jesus Christ, not just to say in the name, but to come in the power and authority and in the place of, to actually take the place of Jesus with His permission In His Name as if He was standing where you are, Speaking, Declaring, Commanding by His power and authority. Asa had a strong handle on this when he said "In Your Name we go against this enemy, let not this enemy prevail against You" The very next verse says " So the Lord smote the Ethiopians" ---What does this have to do with us today, and how can this help us in our life? Well, if we will apply the same faith and the same attitude against the enemies we face we will experience the same Victory that Asa had. You see God is the same God today as in Asa's time, Malachi 3:6 God said "For I AM the Lord and I change not!" | ||||||||||
| --So the same faith that worked then will work now. No matter what is coming against you, you can rise up and go right back against it in The Name of Jesus Christ, and receive the same victory. Asa said this in response to his enemy and declaring his faith in God. "Lord it is Nothing with Thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power; Help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on Thee, and in Your Name we go against this multitude,O Lord You are our God, let not man prevail against You". So let's apply our faith in the same manner, what has come against you? Cancer? Diabetes, Heart Disease, Poverty, sickness and disease, it matters not IT IS NOTHING for God to deliver from the hand of our enemy. I had a report of diabetes back in July 2008, but I cried out to the Lord My God and I said Lord it is nothing for You to help me, so I rest on You, and in the Name of Jesus Christ I go against diabetes, O Lord You are my God, let not diabetes prevail against You. And so The Lord smote diabetes!! | ||||||||||
