Biography - About Me...

David Worth Hinton was born in Dallas, Texas and was raised in central Oklahoma.  At age twelve, after the untimely death of his mother, David spent the rest of his childhood and teenage years as a ward of the court in foster homes and children's detention centers. He was also constantly on the run.  David ran away for the first time at age twelve, and running became a way of life.  Many times when David was on the run, he would play music in bars where he became addicted to drugs and alcohol.  After doing time in many local city and county jails, David wound up in the Oklahoma State Penitentiary at age 23.  Upon his release from prison, David began playing and singing at bars in Nashville Tennessee (one of which was called “Demon's Den”).  One night in August 1980, while out in front of Demon's Den, he met a team of people talking about Jesus and sharing the love of God.  David received Jesus Christ into his heart and felt the love and forgiveness of God in a way he had never felt before.  He was set free from drugs, alcohol and from his life of sin.  He began to live his life for the One who saved him.

David has worked in inner-city streets throughout America.  He has also ministered in many jails and prisons, including the same penitentiary where he did time.  In 1992, David began taking the word of God to rodeos and ropings as well as other cowboy events. He also ministered on death row and other in maximum security prisons during this same time.  In 1995, David and his family felt led by the Lord to go to the Indian reservations located in the Dakotas and northern Canada.  In August 1997, David moved his ministry and his family to a far northern Indian village called Southend Saskatchewan.

The songs and testimony of David Worth Hinton have touched and changed the lives of many people and has opened many doors of ministry to David. He has ministered at many banquets, conferences, churches and conventions, including both Andrew Wommack Minister’s Conference and Men’s Retreat Conference, and Joyce Meyers' Conference. Recently, he has become part of Dave Duell’s “Faith Ministries Int’l Network.”  David has an anointing for winning souls  and for imparting into others this ability for the kingdom and the glory of God.
